Secondary School Experimental Design Competition
中學實驗設計比賽
This competition aims to encourage students to apply their scientific knowledge and questioning and design a simple experiment that is able to be performed in Antarctica.
本次比賽旨在鼓勵學生運用他們的科學知識和提問，設計一個能夠在南極洲進行的簡單實驗。

OBJECTIVES
目標
Facilitate students to gain a deeper understanding of the Antarctic condition and its significance through research and experimental design
通過研究和實驗設計，幫助學生更深入地了解南極狀況及其意義Encourage students to apply their scientific knowledge and think outside the box by questioning whether certain theories will result differently in a polar environment
通過預計某些理論在極地環境中是否會產生不同的結果，鼓勵學生應用他們的科學知識並跳出框框思考
TEAM

Every team should be formed by 3 secondary school students (F.4-F.6) and a teacher-in-charge
每隊由 3 名中學生 (F.4-F.6) 和 1 名負責教師組成
JUDGING
CRITERIA
評審準則
The experiment should be creative yet feasible to test, i.e. simple and replicable
實驗應具有創意且可在南極進行測試，即簡單且可容易複制The methodology should demonstrate careful consideration with the Antarctic conditions, limitations and the logistics of carrying this experiment from Hong Kong
實驗應仔細考慮極地環境的現實、限制和從香港運送整個實驗設置到南極的困難The experiment should minimise any environmental disruption, as stated by The Antarctic Treaty
實驗應盡量減少任何環境破壞，如《南極條約》所述
SUBMISSION
提交文件
Every team should submit a 3-5 page Powerpoint or PDF via the submission form by the application deadline. The document should include but not limited to the following: Objectives, Hypothesis, Methodology and Set Up. English or Chinese submissions are both acceptable. Late submission will not be considered.
每個組別應在截止日期前提交 3-5 頁的 Powerpoint 或 PDF。該文件應包括但不限於以下內容：目標、假設、方法和設置。英文或中文提交均可接受。逾期提交將不予考慮。
