OUR FOUNDING STORY
2041 CLIMATEFORCE ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
17 - 28 MARCH, 2022
Our founders, Christie and Justin, are Hong Kong delegations that were selected by famous polar explorer Sir Robert Swan to join a group of 172 people from 35 nations on a climate change and sustainability leadership expedition to Antarctica.
The team members came from some of the world’s top corporations, media outlets, educational institutions, and environmental organizations.
Through lectures, group discussions, workshops, and shore landings, the expedition trained members on up-to-date climate science, sustainability, and leadership skills and equipped them with the tools and solutions to create shared value in their communities in order to benefit this planet that we call home.
But before all these were able to happen, we had to crowdfund for this journey...
Why Antarctica?
Antarctica is a protected Pole, pristine and untouched by any kind of exploration. A 50-year treaty prohibiting any kind of exploitation in Antarctica ends in 2041.
In the year 2041, the fate of Antarctica will be decided.
Sir Robert Swan started the “2041” Foundation to spread awareness about climate change and Antarctica’s present condition, creating leaders by 2041 to protect this treaty.
Antarctica will be Earth's last natural line of defence, we NEED to safeguard it for the future of our homes and loved ones, beyond 2041.
